AI Acceptable Use Policy

Last Updated: June 2026

This AI Acceptable Use Policy ("AI Policy") is an integral part of our Terms of Use and governs your use of 3D AI's AI 3D model generation features. By using our AI features, you agree to comply with this AI Policy.

1. Our Commitment to Responsible AI

3D AI is committed to developing and deploying AI technology responsibly. We believe AI should empower creativity while respecting individual rights, safety, and ethical boundaries. This policy outlines what is and isn't allowed when using our AI 3D model generation service.

2. Strictly Prohibited Uses

The following uses of our AI technology are strictly prohibited. Violations will result in immediate enforcement action, including account termination.

2.1 Synthetic Likenesses of Real People

ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY — PROHIBITED WITHOUT EXCEPTION

Prohibited: generating 3D character models, busts, or avatars based on a real person's likeness without their explicit written consent

You MUST NOT use our Service to:

  • Generate 3D likenesses — character models, busts, or scans that reproduce a real person's face, body, or distinctive features
  • Reconstruct a person from a photo — uploading an image of a real person (celebrity, public figure, private individual) to produce a 3D model of them without their explicit written consent
  • Produce synthetic 3D content of politicians, government officials, or public figures
  • Create fake 3D "evidence" — forgeries, synthetic scans, or fabricated props
  • Generate content that could be used for social engineering, scams, or fraud (e.g., fake product mockups, counterfeit goods)
  • Generate compromising, embarrassing, or damaging 3D content about individuals

Examples of Prohibited Uses:

  • Uploading a photo of a celebrity to generate a 3D character model of them
  • Producing a 3D bust of a private individual without their consent
  • Generating 3D printable parts designed to circumvent product authentication
  • Creating 3D assets designed to deceive buyers into thinking they are genuine branded products

2.2 Unauthorized Use of Person's Likeness

ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY — EXPLICIT CONSENT REQUIRED

ANY use of a real person's likeness, face, or image to drive 3D generation requires their explicit written consent

This includes but is not limited to: image-to-3D on photos of people, reference images for character models, and any pipeline that reconstructs a person's geometry or texture from their image.

You MUST NOT:

  • Use photos, videos, or scans of individuals without their explicit written consent as input to image-to-3D or as reference for character generation
  • Upload images of people from social media, websites, or other sources without consent
  • Create 3D content featuring friends, family members, colleagues, or acquaintances without their explicit permission
  • Use stock photos or images of people to create misleading or harmful 3D content

Exception: You may only use images you have created yourself, stock photos with appropriate commercial licenses that explicitly permit AI-derived 3D output, or images where you have obtained explicit written consent from the depicted individuals.

2.3 Child Safety (ZERO TOLERANCE)

ANY VIOLATION WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE REPORTING TO AUTHORITIES

You MUST NOT:

  • Upload images of minors (anyone under 18) to image-to-3D or any other generation feature
  • Generate 3D content depicting minors in inappropriate, sexual, or harmful situations
  • Create 3D content that could be used to groom, exploit, or harm minors
  • Generate any 3D content involving child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — this will be immediately reported to NCMEC and law enforcement

2.4 Harassment and Bullying

You MUST NOT:

  • Create 3D content to harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate individuals
  • Generate content intended to humiliate or demean identifiable individuals
  • Produce content targeting individuals for abuse
  • Create content that reveals private or sensitive information about individuals

2.5 Hate Speech and Discrimination

You MUST NOT:

  • Generate 3D content promoting violence, hatred, or discrimination against groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity
  • Create 3D models, symbols, or props glorifying hate groups, terrorists, or violent extremists
  • Produce 3D-printable items associated with hate groups or intended to intimidate

2.6 Violence and Harm

You MUST NOT:

  • Generate 3D content depicting realistic violence, gore, or torture
  • Create content promoting or instructing on self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders
  • Produce content encouraging illegal activities or dangerous behavior
  • Design 3D-printable weapons, firearm parts, or prohibited physical items in jurisdictions where such manufacture is illegal

2.7 Sexual Content

You MUST NOT:

  • Generate sexually explicit, pornographic, or fetish 3D content
  • Create 3D content involving sexual acts or sexualized nudity
  • Produce content sexualizing minors or minors in suggestive situations

2.8 Illegal Activities

You MUST NOT:

  • Use our Service to facilitate any illegal activity
  • Generate 3D content for fraud, scams, or phishing
  • Create fake documents, identification, or physical forgeries
  • Produce 3D-printable items whose possession or manufacture violates applicable law (e.g., counterfeit currency components, prohibited weapons parts, circumvention devices)

2.9 Intellectual Property Violations

You MUST NOT:

  • Generate 3D models that copy or closely imitate copyrighted characters, sculptures, product designs, or brands without authorization
  • Create 3D content that infringes on trademarks, patents, trade secrets, or design rights
  • Use our Service to create knockoff or counterfeit physical products

2.10 Political and Electoral Content

You MUST NOT:

  • Generate 3D content that could influence elections or political processes
  • Create misleading political advertisements, props, or messaging
  • Produce 3D likenesses misrepresenting political candidates or their positions

3. Acceptable Uses

We encourage creative and responsible use of our AI technology. Examples of acceptable uses include:

  • Game development: Prototyping props, environment assets, and original characters for your own projects
  • 3D printing: Generating miniatures, replacement parts, household items, and original figurines for personal or commercial use
  • Education: Creating teaching models, scientific visualizations, and study aids
  • AR/VR: Building scene assets for spatial computing apps
  • Concept art: Blocking out 3D references for downstream manual modeling
  • Product design: Turning sketches into reviewable 3D mockups

For all acceptable uses, you must:

  • Obtain necessary permissions for any people, places, or intellectual property depicted
  • Clearly label AI-generated content where appropriate
  • Comply with all applicable laws and platform terms where the output is published

4. Content Attribution and Disclosure

4.1 Labeling AI-Generated 3D Content

When you publish, sell, or publicly share 3D models generated with 3D AI — on Sketchfab, CGTrader, Cults3D, Thingiverse, Unity Asset Store, Unreal Marketplace, or any other platform — you are responsible for following that platform's rules on AI-generated content disclosure. Many marketplaces now require an explicit "AI-generated" tag.

  • Tag your asset as AI-generated where the platform supports it
  • Disclose AI involvement in the product description when the model could be mistaken for hand-modeled work
  • Disclose AI involvement clearly when the model depicts a real product, brand, or public figure

4.2 No Built-in Watermarking

Unlike AI image or video tools, 3D meshes do not have a standard visual watermark concept. 3D AI does not embed an invisible watermark or provenance metadata (such as C2PA) in exported GLB/OBJ/FBX/STL files by default. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining your own records of which assets were AI-generated
  • Disclosing AI generation to downstream buyers, clients, or platforms that require it
  • Complying with any local regulations on synthetic media disclosure when the asset depicts recognizable real people or protected works

5. Our Safety Measures

To enforce this AI Policy and maintain a safe platform, we implement:

5.1 Technical Safeguards

  • Content Filtering: AI-powered analysis to detect policy violations in prompts and uploaded images
  • Image Analysis: Detection of uploaded images containing faces or sensitive content
  • Text Analysis: Prompt screening for prohibited content
  • Rate Limiting: Controls to prevent automated abuse, including per-feature daily caps and bot detection

5.2 Review and Enforcement

  • Manual Review: Human review of flagged content when necessary
  • User Reporting: Easy mechanisms for reporting policy violations
  • Account Tracking: Monitoring for repeat violators
  • Cooperation with Authorities: Reporting illegal content to law enforcement when required

5.3 Data Retention for Enforcement

To effectively enforce this policy, we retain data on a tiered basis:

  • Guest content: Prompts, uploaded images, and generated 3D models are retained briefly for moderation and abuse detection, then deleted.
  • Registered user content: Generated 3D models are stored in the user's account for download and management, and remain available for review under this policy until the user deletes them or closes the account.
  • Activity & security logs: Retained for up to 90 days for fraud detection, enforcement, and legal compliance.

6. Violation Consequences

6.1 Enforcement Actions

For violations of this AI Policy, we may take the following actions at our sole discretion, without prior notice:

  • First or Minor Violations: Warning and mandatory re-review of this policy
  • Repeat Violations: Temporary account suspension (7-30 days)
  • Serious Violations: Immediate permanent account termination
  • Illegal Content: Immediate account termination and reporting to law enforcement

6.2 Zero Tolerance Offenses

The following violations will result in immediate permanent account terminationwithout warning:

  • Any content involving minors (CSAM, sexualization, exploitation)
  • 3D likenesses of real people created for harassment, fraud, or revenge content
  • Terrorism, violent extremism, or hate group content
  • Content used for serious crimes or threats to public safety
